Some teeth require a surgical approach to removal. Oral surgery may also form part of a longer implant treatment plan. The reason for treatment, the alternatives and the recovery arrangements should be clear from the outset.
Dr Waqar's background includes hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery experience. His assessment brings together your symptoms, dental and medical history, examination and relevant imaging to understand the next appropriate step.
What to consider
The risks and recovery depend on the procedure and the tooth's position. These may include pain, bleeding, infection or altered sensation. Tell the clinician about your medicines and any concerns about treatment; comfort and anxiety support can be discussed at assessment.

01Can I discuss an implant before a tooth is removed?
Yes. If a tooth may need removal, it can be useful to discuss the longer-term replacement options at the planning stage. Extraction does not mean that an implant is automatically appropriate.
02Is sedation available?
Dr Waqar has undertaken IV sedation training. Whether sedation is appropriate and available for your procedure and location needs to be discussed and confirmed during assessment.
03Is this an emergency booking service?
